School holiday workshop (afternoon)

Book your tamariki in for some creative exploration this school holidays!
In this hands-on workshop, children will explore the captivating process of cyanotype printing as they respond to the public artwork Tree Houses for Swamp Dwellers by Christchurch artist Julia Morison (2013).
Guided by our specialist arts educator, tamariki will start with a nature treasure hunt in the Botanic Gardens to collect printmaking material then back to The Arts Centre to investigate different approaches to composition and create your own cyanotype print.
Cost is $10 +bf per child (caregivers welcome to stay if they wish).
Places are limited, so book now.
This workshop is 90 minutes long, and is identical to the morning session.
Meeting point: Maker Workshop, School of Art Building, Te Matatiki Toi Ora The Arts Centre. The entrance is off Hereford St, very close to the corner of Rolleston Ave. If travelling by car, allow time to find an on-street park.
Note: Cyanotype printmaking is weather dependent and an alternative art-making activity may be offered if it is an overcast or rainy day.
