The Stencil Art Project
In 2014 schools and community groups were invited to take part in this collaborative artwork by turning a self-portrait image into a stencil then spraying it up on the Terraces hoarding in central Christchurch. We even had Westpac Ambassadors Sophie Pasco and Richie McCaw get on board with their stencils too.
Our Education and Community Engagement Manager visited schools and groups around Christchurch, showing them how to make their stencils, working with them to cut them out, and participating in the finale of spraying them up on the wall.
Check out the faces of Christchurch’s young people sprayed up at Re:Start Mall Cashel Street as part of our Stencil Art Project.
Watch this space! This project was so much fun, we would love to do it all again.
