Susan Philipsz is a Scottish artist based in Berlin. She has exhibited extensively, including the solo exhibitions, The Four Winds, Villa Cerutti, Castello di Rivoli, Italy (2019); I see a Darkness, Tate Modern, London (2018); A Single Voice, Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, Gateshead and War Damaged Musical Instruments, Tate Britain, London (2015). Group exhibitions include Busan Biennale, South Korea (2018); Night and Fog, SFMOMA, San Francisco (2017); Moving is in every direction: Environments — Installations —Narrative Spaces, Hamburger Bahnhof, Berlin (2017); Soundings: A Contemporary Score, MoMA, New York (2013) and Documenta, Kassel (2012). In 2010 she was awarded the Turner Prize and in 2014 an OBE for services to British art. She is represented by Tanya Bonakdar Gallery, New York and Galerie Isabella Bortolozzi, Berlin.
