Shaun Waugh is a Te Whanganui-a-Tara, Wellington-based artist and educator whose practice makes photography the subject of photography. Working primarily with the complexities of colour, he explores and expands the artistic and technical potentials of the photographic medium. Waugh is interested in the fraught relationship between images and the world they profess to represent – a relationship shaped by deception, reduction and seduction. 

Waugh is Head of Whiti o Rehua School of Art, Toi Rauwhārangi, College of Creative Arts at Massey University. He is represented by Two Rooms Gallery and NMG, Arrowtown.
