One of the winners from the Junior category of Re:ACTIVATE Aspiring Artist’s 2020 competition was Annabelle Britt, aged 11 from Selwyn House School. The title of this work is Unfolded Secrets. Unfolded Secrets is designed as a large-scale work reaching human scale, consisting of two parts; a golden key, and newspaper articles. . Britt intended this work to be made up of waterproof newspaper, and the key to look like metal. Within this design Annabelle is clearly connecting themes of fiction, secrets, and lies because each aspect and shape connects in different ways whilst holding specific interlocking meanings.
